Dancehall queen Sheebah Karungi has publicly celebrated fellow musician Lydia Jazmine, calling her a symbol of resilience, discipline, and self-made success in a heartfelt message shared with fans.
In a touching tribute addressed to “My Dear Friend, My Sister, Jazmine,” Sheebah said she wanted to “pause and give you your flowers,” acknowledging the years they have known each other and grown together in Uganda’s music industry.
Sheebah, who rose to fame around the same time as Jazmine, reflected on their shared journey and the challenges women face in a male-dominated industry.

“I may never fully understand every battle you’ve fought, but I understand enough to know that none of this came easy,” Sheebah wrote. “I know the tears, the disappointments, the loneliness, the pressure, and the strength it takes to wake up every day and keep believing in yourself.”
She praised Jazmine for her resilience, discipline, consistency, and courage, and highlighted Jazmine’s kindness and willingness to support other artists “without expecting anything in return.”
“What I admire most is that you never stopped investing in yourself. You never stopped working. You never stopped believing that you deserved more,” Sheebah added. “Even when people doubted you, criticized you, or underestimated you, you kept showing up. You kept building. Brick by brick. Year after year.”
Sheebah said Jazmine now stands as a woman who can proudly say “I built this,” noting that many people only see the lights and applause but not the sleepless nights and sacrifices behind the success.
“I see it. And I want you to know how proud I am of you,” Sheebah wrote. “Never let anyone make you question your worth. Never let anyone diminish what you’ve accomplished. Keep walking with your head held high because everything you have, you’ve earned through hardwork, persistence and grace.”
