Bosses at Nation Media, a leading news corporation in Uganda, are in panic after one of their long serving disc jockeys sued the company for ‘wrongful termination’.

Recently, Dj Pofia, one of the corporation’s star deejays affiliated to Spark TV- a subsidiary of Nation Media Group- was dismissed from work after years of dedicated service.
She was the host of a daily music program Mix@6 on Spark TV.
However, Pofia feels her dismissal was illegal and has run to court for redress. Sources tell us that the talented spinner is demanding Shs100 million in compensation, and this has thrown Nation Media in chaos.
According to our sources, there’s fear the corporation will likely lose the court case.
“There’s genuine worry she (Dj Pofia) could win this case. The company lawyers are worried, and rightly so,” a source told Xclusive UG.
And now, we are further told, this has thrown the group Managing Director, Ms Susan Nsibirwa (pictured below) in untold panic.

“You know she’s new on the job. Court cases like this are not how she wished to kick off her Nation Media MD journey. She’s livid,” the insider source added.
We hear she has demanded the heads of production of Spark TV- Diana Beta and Rose Nampija- explain how or why they could ‘stupidly’ make such a mistake of firing an employee without following the right company procedures.

Meanwhile, in another development, NTV’s head of news gathering- the real brains behind NTV Akawungeezi and the 9pm bulletin- a one Williams Kato has resigned.
And this has also caused further panic.
Those in the know and around media circles are aware of what Kato is or rather has been at NTV.
But in a rather shock move, he resigned from his job recently and all efforts to convince him otherwise have hit a dead wall.
We hear management even tried tripling his salary so that he stays atleast until after the 2026 Uganda general elections, but so far, he’s refused.
Close pals tell us he’s got a lucrative job at a leading NGO in town.
