All set for Tooro American Association Convention 2026 in Dallas Texas as key speakers unveiled

The Tooro American Association (TAA) has unveiled the dates for this year’s annual Convention and keynote speaker at the event.

Tooro American Association is excited to welcome you to the beautiful Lone Star State of Texas for the Tooro American Association Convention 2026.

Come be a part of an unforgettable weekend filled with fun, connection, and community and look forward to sharing this incredible experience.

The convention will take place in Dallas, Texas from May 22nd -25th 2026.

Recently, Co-Chair of the TAA Convention Organizing Committee Mr. Ramesh Feroze had the opportunity to visit the Tooro Babies Home in Uganda.

The experience was truly impactful and highlighted the incredible work being done to care for and support vulnerable children.

As part of this year’s convention, the Committee has organized a fundraising walk scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026. Proceeds from this walk will go directly towards supporting the Tooro Babies Home and the meaningful work they continue to do.

TAA calls on the general public especially Tooro community to be part of this worthy cause by purchasing a T-shirt to participate in the walk at a low cost of $25.

Keynote speaker at the Convention

Tooro American Association is excited to welcome H.E Ambassador Robie Kakonge Akiiki at this year’s convention as keynote speaker. Other notable speakers are;

HRH Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale Farquharson Akiiki

The Tooro princess will speak as a guest speaker and will share her life experience to inspire the young ones at the convention.

Joanna Ahounou (PMHNP-BC)

She brings over 12 years of experience in treating mental health and Behavioral Disorders across the life span.

Mrs. Dorcas W. Okalany.
She is the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development.

She will be available to engage with attendees, discuss important matters, and answer your questions related to land and property ownership in Uganda.

Col (Dr.) Ivan Edwards

Col (Dr.) Ivan Edwards is a physician, U.S. Air Force Flight Surgeon, Kentucky Colonel, and award winning poet whose work reflects a lifelong commitment to resilience, leadership, and community uplift. His career spans medicine, military service, and community leadership.

Born in Kampala, Uganda, he now serves as a Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve and brings more than two decades of experience in rehabilitation medicine, neurorehabilitation, and pain management.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an ordained minister, Col (Dr.) Edwards is also an internationally recognized literary voice, with poetry celebrated for its depth, clarity, and human resonance. His dedication to healing, service, and purposeful leadership has made him a respected figure within the Ugandan diaspora and the broader global community.

In related development, the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), together with the Embassy of Uganda in Washington, D.C., will be present at the Tooro American Convention DFW from May 22nd – May 25th to offer their registration services.

Local music star Saava Karim is set to entertain the convention and hype the party mood fun at the event.

Entrance fee to the convention is $230 for adults above years, $100 young adults between 13-18 and $30 for children 5-12 years.
