Gulu City was treated to an electrifying dose of entertainment over the weekend as Bell Lager unveiled a mini ObaFest experience in the charming Kweyo Village. This precursor event, leading up to the highly anticipated first-ever ObaFest scheduled for Sunday, October 22nd at Jahazi Pier, left the local community brimming with excitement.
The Gulu extravaganza featured an array of unparalleled performances from top-notch local artists, including the charismatic Pato Loverboy, the enchanting Pretty B, the mesmerizing Dance Masters Troupe, and the sensational Eezy. The stage was expertly hosted by the dynamic MC trio, comprising Mercy, Young Moni, and Lucky, who kept the energy soaring throughout the event.
Bell Lager’s ObaFest is a unique beer festival designed to celebrate the rich tapestry of East African cuisine, music, and culture. The Gulu experience provided a tantalizing glimpse of what attendees can expect at the festival. It offered a delightful array of South Sudanese cuisine, engaging group games such as matatu, ludo, snakes and ladders, and, of course, an abundance of cold Bell Lager to keep the good times flowing.
One of the most captivating elements of the event was the lively mini-parade. It followed a convoy of Bell Lager-branded matatus, which are renowned public transport vehicles in Kenya, celebrated for their vibrant designs and lively music. As they rolled into the city, these matatus set the stage for a truly unforgettable experience.
