The State House anti corruption unit in liaison with Police have arraigned 7 former members of the Interim Management Committe of Wandegeya market & 4 KCCA officials on Charges of Abuse of Office, Conspiracy to Defraud and Causing Damage to Public Property.
The accused allegedly allocated themselves stalls depriving the wanainchi that were eligible to occupy the stalls. They further rented out the stalls at exorbitant prices and have not been remitting money to government hence causing loss of over UGX400m. They have been remanded.
