Bebe Cool dedicates 2027 music concert to wives of UPDF soldiers

Music superstar Bebe Cool has announced his next concert, set for next year 2027, will be dedicated to the wives of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers, whom he has described as “forgotten heroes” and “unsung heroes.”

Bebe Cool said the concert will shine a spotlight on the spouses who remain behind while their husbands serve the country, often carrying the responsibility of caring for their families during prolonged deployments and other military assignments.

The singer, however, has not yet announced the date, venue or programme for the planned concert.

The announcement adds a social dimension to Bebe Cool’s concert plans, with the musician having previously associated some of his events and initiatives with charitable causes.

Bebe Cool has a history of giving his major concerts a cause beyond entertainment.

On August 3, 2018, he took the Golden Heart Concert to Kololo Airstrip and used the event to raise funds for children with complex heart conditions who needed specialised surgeries in India.

Two years ago, his annual Boxing Day concert “Tondeka e’Kiwatule” was given a deeply personal mission. On October 25, 2024, Bebe Cool announced that proceeds from the December 26, 2024 show would go towards building a home for 5-year-old TikTok sensation Bridgette Mirembe Namiyigo in Mubende.

The concert was renamed “Tondeka E Kiwatule Tuzimbire Bridgette Enyumba” in her honour.

Before the donation, Bridgette, her sibling and their mother were living in a crumbling semi-detached house that the young girl humorously described as “Geyeena” (hell) in her TikTok skits.

The philanthropic initiative was executed under Bebe Cool’s Amber Heart Foundation, supported by fans and partners.
Construction began on January 3, 2025, and on May 14, 2025, Bebe Cool handed over a fully furnished three-bedroom house built on a 100-by-100ft plot in Kyeguluuso Village, Mubende District.

In addition to the house, he furnished it with beds, a sofa set, mattresses and beddings — creating a livable, dignified space for the family.

Bebe Cool has also been a long-standing public supporter of President Yoweri Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), and has frequently spoken about patriotism and supporting Uganda’s security forces.

His latest announcement is likely to attract attention from both the entertainment and military communities, particularly among families of serving UPDF personnel.
