Miss Tourism Uganda, EgyptAir Seal Partnership to Boost Tourism Ties

Miss Tourism Uganda has entered into a strategic partnership with EgyptAir in a move aimed at deepening tourism and cultural exchange between Uganda and Egypt.

The agreement, unveiled on Tuesday, is expected to raise the international profile of the beauty pageant while creating new opportunities for promoting bilateral tourism through a joint promotional framework.

Under the arrangement, EgyptAir will provide air tickets to the winners of the 2026 and 2027 Miss Tourism Uganda competitions to support cross-border tourism promotion.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the pageant’s Relationship Manager said the partnership marks an important step in positioning Miss Tourism Uganda as a global tourism platform.

She noted that building strong international alliances is essential to widening the reach and impact of Uganda’s tourism industry.

EgyptAir Country Manager Kamal Ahmed said the collaboration is also expected to increase passenger traffic between Kampala and Cairo, with the possibility of more frequent flights between the two cities in future.

He added that beyond promoting travel, the initiative will help empower young people through exposure, networking and skills development.

As a result of the partnership, Miss Tourism Uganda Nachap and Man of Tourism Amuriat joined the Embassy of Uganda in Cairo to promote coffee and tea at what was described as the first-ever expo of its kind, with special appreciation extended to Gen Angina for the support.

The Miss Tourism Uganda 2026 grand finale is set for September 4 at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

This year’s contest will be held under the theme “AI, Tourism and Culture,” reflecting the growing link between technology, heritage and tourism promotion.

EgyptAir currently operates five weekly flights between Cairo and Entebbe using Airbus A320neo aircraft, a service that continues to improve connectivity for tourism and business travel between the two countries.
