Media revenues, like most other sectors, have dwindled as the economy struggles to recover from the Covid disaster.

Shrewd Mr. Karisa has over the years been on an ambitious expansion plan for Next Media that saw him add Next Radio, Sanyuka TV, Sanyuka Extra, NBS Sport, Salam TV on their headline product NBS TV.
While some praised him for his courage and zeal, others saw this as an over ambitious project that could crumble.
We are not suggesting that the firing of the 60 members of staff is the beginning of the collapse of Next Media Group, but it’s certainly not a good sign.
It’s not clear yet who has been fired but Kin has a host of stellar celebrity names that were hired to take the company to the next level.
He hired the likes of Douglas Lwanga, Karitas Karisimbi, Canary Mugume, Qitui, Ronnie McVex, Zahara Totto, DJ Slick Stuart among others, thinking their fame could help elevate the organization.
