The High Court in Kampala is set to commence the trial of socialite Charles Olimu aka Sipapa together with his wife Shamira Rukia Nakiyimba for aggrevated robbery and money laundering charges.
The couple has been on remand at Luzira prison since last year.
Today, they appeared before High Court judge Micheal Elubuhas where both the state and defense lawyers agreed to commence the trial on 18th December.
The prosecution in its summary of evidence presented to court, states that they have gathered sufficient evidence against Sipapa and his wife in regards to the alleged robbery of USD429.000( about Shs1.6b from Jacob Arok Nul Mayendit, a South Sudanese businessman.

The state led by Edward Muhumuza also said that they have evidence to the effect that Sipapa; a businessman dealing in gold, cars and promoter of musicians together with Nakiyemba; a designer and others still at large on the night of August 29,2022 at Bunga Kawuku, Makindye Division engaged in money laundering.
