“Borders” unfolds as a 15-episode mini-TV series, delving deep into the lives of an African Jewel Dance Troop as they grapple with the challenges of both their artistic endeavors and personal journeys. Presented in a tapestry of languages including English, Luganda, and Swahili, the series offers viewers a nuanced glimpse into diverse cultures and traditions.
During the premiere, Karema expressed gratitude to supporters like UCC, whose funding has bolstered the project’s quality and scope. She emphasized the demanding nature of filmmaking, underscoring the importance of investment in the industry.
Addressing the State Minister for Trade, who graced the event, Karema urged a concerted effort to elevate Uganda’s image on the global stage. She emphasized the potential of film as a vehicle for cultural exchange and national representation.
